Templates make recurring collection work consistent. Each template contains ordered file or question items.

Create a template

Give the template a purpose-specific name such as 2025 personal tax return. For each item, configure:
  • A short, client-facing name.
  • Optional instructions.
  • Whether it is required.
  • Item type: file, text, date, number, or yes/no.
  • For files, an optional expectation describing what a correct document contains.
  • Optional fields to capture from the document.
  • Optional correctness behavior.

Write useful items

Prefer Signed engagement letter over Documents. Put one deliverable in each item. Describe the required period, parties, signature, or page coverage when those details determine whether the upload is correct.

Snapshot behavior

When a request is created from a template, NeuDocs copies the checklist into that request. Later edits to the template do not silently rewrite requests already sent to clients.

Archive or delete

Archive templates that should remain in history but should not be selected for new requests. Delete only unused templates when you no longer need the definition.

Export

Template CSV export provides a portable view of your firm’s reusable checklists.
